It’s an ugly headstand, but most importantly, I did it!

From the beginning of this year, I’ve always gotten up early for work. But more recently I’ve been getting up earlier for my Miracle Morning challenge.

For most weeks, I managed to go to the Crossfit classes twice a week.  Some weeks I’m better and manage to go to three classes instead.  And then in other weeks I’m really bad, finding all kinds of excuses (i.e. to meet clients’ deadlines) to skip these classes.

The Miracle Morning has inspired me to start focusing on exercising again.  After all, if you don’t take care of your body, where else are you going to live?

Recently, Radix, the gym that I regularly attend started offering 6am classes.

It’s a perfect time for me to start my day with some exercise.  I roll off my bed at 5, meditate, have a glass of the water, grab my protein bar and off I go.

To be honest with you, it’s EXTREMELY tough at the beginning.  This is my 4th week attending the 6am classes.  My body is still adjusting to the changes.

I have been practicing getting to a handstand position against the wall for a long time.  It’s quite uncomfortable hanging upside down regardless of how strong you are.

My trainer, Rachael, had been teaching me how to kick myself up so I can lean against the wall in a handstand position.  Trust me, kicking yourself up is DIFFICULT!

Instead of a handstand, an easier step in between is a headstand.  With her help lifting my legs up against the wall, I could hold my headstand position for the first time during these 6am sessions.

Cool, isn’t it?

This reminded me of the quote I saw recently on Facebook:

“Work while they sleep.  Learn while they party.  Save while they spend.  Then live like they dream.”

A couple of weeks ago, my athletic therapist told me that he wanted to find out how and why an Amazon business owner, that we both know of, started his business and achieved success.

We do things that other people wouldn’t do.  We take risks that other people wouldn’t take.  So, we can live a life that other people can only dream of.

The journey to be a real estate investor and an entrepreneur is lonely.

The answers are often frustration and commitment/dedication.

“Eighty percent of success is showing up.” ~ Woody Allen

Showing up at the 6am class is the first step.  Getting myself upside down with help is a small achievement.  When I can get to the headstand position without help, then I can practice getting to the handstand position without help.  😊

Hopefully this provides some positive vibes to lighten up your Thursday morning.

I was fortunate to be interviewed by two podcasts this past week on two different topics.

One is about the recent tax changes proposed by the Finance Minister which will affect almost all small business owners and real estate investors who own properties inside of a corporation.

The podcast host – Erwin Szeto, aka Mr. Hamilton, aka Mr. Mom in our family, is my husband, a veteran real estate investor and a real estate agent focusing on helping investors to create millions of dollars in  wealth, many of them are also my clients.

You would have thought it must be easy to go on his podcast.  After all, I am his wife.  😉  I had scheduled a few times to do the podcast with him and he cancelled on me on all of them.

Not until this time, when we are both affected significantly on this proposed change by the Finance Minister, he would allow me to share some of my thoughts and details on this topic.

So enjoy.  Click here to listen to the podcast.

The second podcast interview was done with my client, Kevin Bunzeluk at Lifestylehousing.ca, a real life, real estate investing podcast and a radio show host.

In this episode, I have go into depth about why you should incorporate your business, rental or active small business, to gain an edge in the tax system (under the current rules).

Hopefully you will find them both useful.

Until next time, enjoy your summer, happy Canadian Real Estate Investing.
